SIGs Facilitators Training

Mafunzo kwa wawezeshaji wa vikundi vidogo vya kijamii vya huduma ndogo za fedha (SIGs) yamefanyika katika viwanja vya taasisi ya YPM Tanzania kuanzia tarehe 23 hadi 24 mwezi Machi 2023 kwa lengo la kuwakumbusha wawezeshaji mbinu mbalimbali za kuendesha vikundi hivyo.

Akiendesha mjadala uliohusiana na kutambua changamoto na mafanikio yaliyofikiwa na SIGs Rev. Walalaze, Mkurugenzi wa Taasisi ya YPM Tanzania, amewasihi wawezeshaji hao kutembelea vikundi mbalimbali na kufuatilia changamoto wanazopitia na kuwasaidia wanavikundi kutatua changamoto hizo, pia amewasihi wawezeshji kufuatilia mienendo ya vikundi vyote wanavyovisimamia.

Mwezeshaji wa mkutano huo ambaye pia ni Meneja wa YPM Tanzania Bw. Peter Jally amesema kuwa, wawezeshaji wanayonafasi kubwa katika kuhakikisha maendeleo ya vikundi na wanavikundi yanakua ya mafanikio, pia amewasihi wawezeshaji kuhakikisha vikundi havivunji mzunguko bali wanaendeleza mzunguko wa uwekaji wa hisa ili kuweza kumnufaisha mwanakikundi kupata asilimia kubwa ya mkopo na gawio pindi kikundi kinapo funga mzunguko wa mwaka.

Aidha Afisa michezo na utetezi wa mazingira Bw. Francis Kamote amewasihi wawezeshaji kujua namna sahihi ya kuikabili migogoro inayokumba vikundi kwa kutumia busara ili kuepusha uwezekano wa uvunjaji vikundi kwani migogoro midogomidogo ndiyo inayopelekea vikundi vingi kuvunjika.

Bw. Yona James mmoja wa wawezeshaji  anawasishi watu wajiunge na vikundi hivi kwani vinasaidia sana hasa pale mtu anapohitaji mkopo wa haraka, “uwepo wa vikundi hivi vinasaidia sana hasa pale unapopata shida ambayo inahitaji utatuzi wa fedha wa haraka, unakua na uwezo wa kupata mkopo kutoka katika kikundi ulichopo na kwa riba nafuu”.

Akitoa ushauri kwa wakina mama Pamoja na vijana Bi. Melina Mhema, muwezeshaji na mwanakikundi wa vikundi vya Shume na Ufunuo amesema “nawashauri akina mama na vijana kujiunga na vikundi hivi kwani inasaidia kupata mtaji na kujikwamua kiuchumi, mfano mimi nimeweza kujikwamua kutoka katika umasikini kutokana na kujiunga na vikundi na kwa sasa ni mjasiriamali namiliki biashara ya chakula, na nafuga kuku.

Training for YPM SIGs Facilitators

Training for the facilitators of Saving and Investment Groups (SIGs) was held on the grounds of the YPM from the 23rd to the 24th of March 2023 with the aim of reminding the facilitators on the various methods of running those groups.

Rev. Walalaze, the Director of the YPM Tanzania conducted a discussion related to recognizing the challenges and achievements achieved by the SIGs. He urged the facilitators to visit various groups and monitor the challenges they are experiencing and help the group members solve those challenges. He also urged the facilitators to monitor the movements of all the groups they manage.

The facilitator of the meeting, who is also the Manager of YPM Tanzania Mr. Peter Jally, said that the facilitators have a great opportunity to ensure that the development of groups and group members is successful. He also urged the facilitators to ensure that the groups do not take out dividend by the closing of each year, but instead continue stock placement over several years to be able to get a larger percentage of loans and dividends.

In addition, The Sports and Environmental Protection Officer Mr. Francis Kamote urged the facilitators to know conflict resolution and tactics to avoid groups breaking up because of small conflicts, which has been the source of closure of many groups.

Mr. Yona James, one of the facilitators, said that he urges people to join these groups because they are very helpful especially when someone needs a quick loan. “The presence of these groups is very helpful especially when you have a problem that requires a quick financial solution, you are able to get a loan from in the group you are in and at a low interest rate”.

Giving advice to mothers and young people, Mrs. Melina Mhema, a facilitator and group member of the Shume and Ufunuo groups has said “I advise mothers and young people to join these groups because it helps to get capital and fight poverty. For example I have been able to alleviate my personal financial challenges by joining groups and now I am an entrepreneur and I own a business of food, and I raise chickens too, so it’s better”.

Bi Ewaldina akitoa mafunzo ya ujasiriamali wa kutengeneza sabuni ya maji katika shule ya sekondari ya Prince Claus

Mafunzo ya ujasiriamali wa kutengeneza sabuni ya maji kwa vitendo yamefanyika tarehe 10 mwezi Machi 2023 katika Shule ya Sekondari ya Prince Claus (SSPC), yakiendeshwa na Bi. Ewaldina Paul kutoka Taasisi ya YPM, kwa lengo la kuhamasisha vijana wadogo kujihusisha na ujasiriamali.

Akitoa mafunzo hayo kwa wanafunzi na baadhi ya walimu waliohudhuria, Bi. Ewaldina amesema “vijana tunapaswa kuwa wabunifu katika kuupiga vita umasikini, na kutokana na upungufu wa ajira tunaweza kuwa wajasiriamali na kujiajiri wenyewe, hivyo leo Taasisi ya YPM Tanzania imeona vyema kuwaletea mafunzo haya ili ikawe chachu kwenu”.

Aidha, Zamana Ibrahimu mwanafunzi wa kidato cha nne shuleni hapo amesema amefurahishwa na namna taasisi ya YPM ilivyowapa fursa ya kujifunza ujasiriamali, “Taasisi imetuamini sisi kama vijana na tunashukuru kupata fursa ya ujasiriamali hasa kwa sisi tunaomaliza kidato cha nne, ni fursa nzuri na naahidi nitaenda kuitumia fursa hii vizuri”.

“Mafunzo haya yanatupatia fursa sisi wanafunzi kujipatia kipato na pia tutaanza kuzalisha sabuni kwa ajili ya matumizi ya kusafishia maeneo ya shule kama vile vyooni na madarasani, hakika tutawaelekeza na wazazi nyumbani pia ili waweze kutengeneza na kuongeza kipato cha familia” Abdala Saidi mwanafunzi wa kidato cha nne.

Muonakano wa sabuni ya maji baada ya kutengenezwa katika somo la ujasiliamali

Mwalimu Mkuu wa SSPC Richard Onai Shembwana amewashukuru YPM kwa kuwapatia fursa hii na ameahidi kutumia ujuzi huo kuwahafundisha wanafunzi utengenezaji wa sabuni hizo kwa ajili ya matumizi ya shule na nyumbani pia.

Entrepreneurship training on how to make liquid soap was held on March 10, 2023 at Prince Claus Secondary School (SSPC), conducted by Ms. Ewaldina Paul from the YPM Institute, with the aim of encouraging young people to get involved in entrepreneurship.

Giving training to the students and some of the teachers who attended, Ms. Ewaldina said “young people should be creative in fighting poverty, and due to the lack of employment we can be entrepreneurs and self-employed, so today the YPM Tanzania Institute has seen fit to bring you this training so that it becomes a springboard for you”.

In addition, Zamana Ibrahimu a form four student at SSPC, said she was happy with the way YPM institution gave them the opportunity to learn entrepreneurship, “The institution has believed in us as young people and we are grateful to have the opportunity to do entrepreneurship, especially for those of us who are graduating form four, it is a good opportunity and I promise to use this opportunity well”.

“This training gives us the opportunity to earn an income and we will also start producing soap for use in cleaning school areas such as toilets and classrooms. We will also teach our parents and family at home so that it can be a contribution to the family’s income” said Abdala Saidi, a student of the four.

The Principal of SSPC Richard Onai Shembwana thanked YPM for giving them this opportunity and has promised to use that knowledge to teach the students how to make soaps for school and home use as well.

Mh. Sekiboko: Wanawake tumieni teknolojia kujiendeleza

Mh. Husna Sekiboko, Mbunge wa viti maalumu CCM mkoa wa Tanga, ambaye ni mgeni rasmi, ameambatana na mkuu wa Wilaya ya Lushoto Mh. Ekalisti Lazaro pamoja na wanawake kutoka taasisi za serikali na zisizo za kiserikali kutoka sehemu mbalimbali za wilaya ya Lushoto kufanya maadhimisho ya siku ya Wanawake Kimataifa yaliyoadhimishwa kiwilaya katika Kijiji cha Lunguza kata ya Lunguza tarehe 8 mwezi machi 2023, wakiongozwa na kaulimbiu “Uvumbuzi na maendeleo ya kiteknolojia kwa usawa wa kijinsia”.

Mh. Sekiboko amesema wanawake wanapaswa kutumia teknolojia ya mawasiliano kujiendeleza kibiashara na kuwafundisha wanawake wengine mbinu mbalimbali za kujikwamua kiuchumi kwa kutumia simu za mikononi. Pia amewaasa wazazi kuwaelekeza watoto wao matumizi sahihi ya mitandao ya kijamii ili kuwasaidia kujikwamua kiuchumi na kujiendeleza kielimu kuliko kutumia muda mwingi katika kuperuzi tovuti na kurasa zisizo na maadili.

“Wanaume wanapaswa kushirikiana na wanawake katika kulea familia kwa upendo na sio kuwaachia wanawake wenyewe’, amesema Mh. Sekiboko. Halikadhalika amepinga vikali uwepo wa mila potofu ambazo humkandamiza mwanamke kama vile kurithi mke wa marehemu kwani ni mila inayohatarisha usalama wa afya ya mwanamke anayerithiwa.

Upande wa kupinga ukatili wa kijinsia Mh. Sekiboko amesema wazazi wanapaswa kuwafundisha watoto wao michezo yenye staha, michezo ambayo haitawafanya watu wengine wawatamani watoto kutokana na maumbile, hivyo si vyema mzazi kumruhusu mtoto kunengua mbele za watu ili kumkinga na unyanyasaji wa kijinsia.

YPM Tanzania imeazimisha siku hii kwa kuanza na shughuli mbalimbali za usafi katika eneo la ofisi ya YPM siku ya jumamosi tarehe 4 machi, kisha kufuatia na ugawaji wa taulo za kike katika shule ya Prince Claus, ambako waliambatana na wafanyakazi wa Halmashauri ya wilaya ya Lushoto, wafanyakazi wa ustawi wa jamii pamoja na redio Utume.

Women should use technology for their own development, Ed. Sekiboko

Hon. Husna Sekiboko, Member of Parliament for CCM special seats in Tanga region, who is an official guest, has accompanied the head of Lushoto District Hon. Ekalisti Lazaro together with women from government and non-government organisation from various parts of Lushoto district to celebrate the International Women’s Day celebrated in the district in Lunguza Village, Lunguza ward on March 8, 2023, and the slogan was “innovation and technology for gender equality”

Hon. Sekiboko said that women should use communication technology to develop themselves commercially and teach other women various ways to get help themselves economically by using mobile phones. She also urged parents to direct their children to the correct use of social networks to help them develop themselves educationally instead of spending a lot of time browsing immoral websites and pages.

“Men should cooperate with women in raising a family with love and not leave it to women themselves”, said Hon. Sekiboko Furthermore, she strongly opposed the existence of stereotypes that oppress women, such as inheriting the wife of the deceased, as it is a tradition that endangers the health of the inherited woman.

On sexual violence issues Hon. Sekiboko said that parents should teach their children decent games, games that will not make other people want to exploit children, so it is not good for a parent to allow a child to play in front of people to protect him from sexual abuse.

Wanawake kutoka YPM Tanzania, Halmashauri ya wilaya ya Lushoto, na ustawi wa Jamii walijitokeza katika zoezi la ugawaji wa taulo za kike katika shule ya Sekondari ya Prince Claus, kama sehemu ya maadhimisho ya siku ya wanawake kimataifa.

YPM Tanzania has commemorated this day by starting with various cleaning activities in the area of the YPM office on Saturday 4 March, then following with the distribution of female towels (pads) at Prince Claus Secondary School, where they were joined by the staff of the Lushoto District Council, social welfare workers as well as Utume radio workers.
