It has been pointed out that the mental health problem is one of the factors that has led the community to be less able to design and cope with life’s challenges and ultimately fail to achieve the intended development.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Godwin Mollel at Youth Change Summit with a theme ‘The Rapid Emergence of Mental Problems in the Community’’ that was hosted by Youth Peacemakers Tanzania through its Youth Peacemakers Forum in Kilimanjaro Tanzania.
Dr. Molell said in response to the mental health challenges the government has continued to improve health facilities including maternal and child care while urging the community to focus on proper nutrition management especially for children under the age of five to have a generation with children who grow up with innovative ideas in various fields including science and technology.
Speaking to the audience, Rev. Godfrey Walalaze, Director of the Youth Peacemakers Tanzania, said the summit was aimed at educating the community on issues related to mental health.
Some of the young people who have participated in the summit said that through the education they have acquired they are going to be good ambassadors by providing education in the community especially to their fellow young people.
