The Celebration of International Women’s Day

Tarehe 8 ya mwezi wa Tatu kila mwaka dunia husherehekea maadhimisho ya siku ya wanawake duniani. Kauli mbiu ya mwaka huu ni “Wanawake katika uongozi ni chachu ya kufikia dunia yenye usawa”. Maadhimisho ya siku hii yamewekwa mahususi ili kuweza kutathimini mipango, mikakati na sera mbalimbali ambazo zimewekwa kwaajili ya kuhakikisha haki za wanawake zinapatikana. Lakini pia kuweza kuutambua mchango wa wanawake katika kuleta maendeleo. Wanawake wamekua wakikubwa na changamoto mbalimbali hasa katika kufikia usawa wa kijinsia. Moja ya changamoto nchini Tanzania ni rushwa ya ngono wanayoiombwa wanawake wakati wakiomba kupatiwa mikopo. Katika wilaya ya Lushoto maadhimisho ya siku ya wanawake dunia yamefanyika Mtae ambapo mgeni rasimi alikua Mkurugenzi wa Halimashauri ya wilaya Lushoto mama Ikupa Mwaisiyoge.Moja ya changamoto zilizoelezwa na wanawake wa wa kijiji cha Kwasindo Mtae ni umbali wa huduma ya uzazi. Wanawake hao wamesema wanasafiri umbali wa kilometa 9 kufuata huduma ya uzazi hali inayopekekea wengi wao kujifungua wakiwa njiani.Mbali na hilo wanawake hao wamesema ni wajasiliamali na wanafanya shughuli za biashara iliwaweze kujiingizia kipato. Katika maadhimisho hayo ambayo Pia YPM ilihudhulia ilieleza jinsi inavyoutambua mchango mkubwa wa wanawake katika kuleta maendeleo. Pia wanawake wamekua mstari wa mbele katika vikundi ya PM VICOBA amabavyo vinasimamiwa na taasisi ya YPM hivyo kupitia vikundi hivyo wanawake wamekua chachu ya maendeleo katiaka familia zao na jamii kwa ujumla. Msemaji kutoka YPM Bi Lydia Mshemu alieleza kua YPM inapinga vikali unyanyasaji wa kijinsia,ndoa na mimba za utotoni kwa kuanzisha kampeni ambazo zinawaelimisha wazazi, jamii na mtoto wa kike juu ya mambo hayo yanayorudisha nyuma maendeleo. Pia aliawaasa wanawake na jamii kutokunyamaza wanapoona vitendo vyenyenia ya kuwanyanyasa na kuwanyima wanawake haki zao kwa ujumla.

On the 8th of March every year the world celebrates International Women’s Day. This year’s motto is “Women in leadership is the key to achieving a more equitable world”. The commemoration of this day has been set aside to assess the various programs, strategies and policies that have been put in place to ensure women’s rights are met. But also to be able to recognize the contribution of women in bringing about development. Women have grown up with many challenges, especially in achieving gender equality. One of the challenges in Tanzania is the sexual bribery demanded from women when they apply for loans. In Lushoto district, World Women’s Day celebrations have been held in Mtae where the official guest was the Director of Lushoto District Council, Mama Ikupa Mwaisiyoge. One of the challenge that has been addressed by Mtae Kwesindo women was traveling 9 kilometers to follow maternity care, a condition that many of them give birth on the way. However, the women also said they are entrepreneurs and are doing business so that they can earn an income to rise their families living standard but also to be able to send their kids to school. At the event, which YPM also attended, it highlighted how it recognizes the significant contribution of women in development. Women have also grown at the forefront of Peace Makers (PM) VICOBA groups which are managed by YPM so through these groups women have become the catalyst for development in their families and society as a whole. A spokesperson for YPM, Miss Lydia Mshemu, explained that YPM strongly opposes sexual abuse, early marriage and teenage pregnancy by launching campaigns that educate parents, the community and the girl child on the issues that particular issues that are holding back development. He also urged women and the community not to remain silent when they see acts with intentions of infringing women’s rights.

DEVELOPMENT STAKEHOLDERS MEETING IN KOROGWE COUNCIL.

Halimashauri ya Wilaya Korogwe Mji iliandaa Mkutano wa Kuwakutanisha Wadau wa Maendleo.Mkutano huo uliofanyika tarehe moja ya mwezi Machi mwaka huu ambapo takribani mashrika nane(8) yasio ya Kiselikali na ya Kijamii yalikutana Korogwe Tanga kwaajili ya kushauriana juu ya uhusiano wao katika utekelezaji wa kazi zao katika Wilaya hiyo pamoja na kuelezana kuhusu Sheria ya Mashirika ya sio ya Kiserikali na ya kijamii ya mwaka 2019. Katika mkutano huo YPM iliwakilishwa na Meneja Miradi Bwana Peter Jally pamoja na Afisa Miradi wa YPM Bwan Francis Kamote.

Korogwe Distric Township Council prepared Development Stakeholders Meeting. The meeting was held on 1st March 2021 where by almost 8 Non Governmental (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations(CSOs) gathered at Korogwe Districts in Tanga region. The meeting firstly aimed at strengthening their relationship and secondly to discuss Non-Governmental Organization Act of 2019. In this meeting YPM was represented by Program Manager Mr. Peter Jally and Program Officer Francis Kamote.

Monitoring and Evaluation at Korogwe zone

Kuanzia tarehe 9 mpaka 11 of February, Meneja Miradi  na  Afisa  Mazingira, Utetezi na Michezo walitembelea Wilaya ya Korogwe kwajili ya Kutambulishwa kwenye ofisi za Serikali za kata  na kijiji. Sambamba na hilo walitembelea vikundi mbalimbali vya VICOBA ili kuwatia moyo na kuwasaidia namna ya kutatua changamoto zao. Memeja Miradi ambae pia ni Afisa Uwezeshaji Kiuchumi aliwasisitiza wanavikundi kutumia huduma za kibenki kama njia salama ya kutunza  fedha zao. zaidi ya hayo aliwaeleza wana vikundi fulsa mbalimbali za kijasiliamali ambazo taasisi inawapa wanavikundi wake.

From 9th to 11th of February, YPM program Manager and Program Officer for Environment, Advocacy and Sports visited Korogwe District for Introduction at the ward and village government offices. Along with that they visited various VICOBA groups to encourage them and help them figure out how to solve their challenges. Project Manager who is also the Program Officer for Economic Empowerment urged group members to use banking services as a safe way to manage their finances. In addition, he explained to the members of the various entrepreneurial opportunities that the Organisation offers to its members.

YPM and Vodacom Tanzania M-Koba Training

Today YPM and Vodacom Tanzania conducted a collaboration training here at Lushoto town. The training involved PM SIGs (VICOBA) and facilitator Irene Felix Nyenyembe from Vodacom with the aim of introducing SIGs members to financial services called M-Koba, which will help them to buy shares and perform all financial transaction of their groups and keep all group records through their mobiles phones. During the training, YPM Program Manager and and Program Officer for Economic Empowerment spoke to the participants about the importance of using M-Koba and abandon traditional ways of keeping money at homes. He also kindly asked SIGs members to maintain their Unity and solidarity while exploring new economic opportunities so that they do not left anyone behind in economic development of their groups and as individuals.

Leo YPM na Vodacom Tanzania wameendesha mafunzo kwa vikundi vya VICOBA vinavyosimamiwa na Vijana waleta Amani Tanzania (YPM). Dhumuni la mafunzo hayo nikuwawezesha wanavikundi kutumia huduma ya M-Koba ili waweze kuweka hela zao nakufanya miamala ya vikundi vyao kwa usalama zaidi kuliko kuziweka hela kwa mtu au majumbani. Katika mafunzo hayo Meneja Miradi wa YPM ambaye pia ni Afisa wa Uwezeshaji Kiuchumi aliwaomba washiriki kutumia fursa hiyo pamoja nakuhakikisha kua wanaendeleza umoja wao na hawamuachi mtu yeyote nyuma katika maendeleo ya kikundi na mtu mmoja mmoja.

Meeting With Duty Bearer

YPM Program Manager Mr. Peter Jali and Program Officer for Sports, Environment and Advocacy have official conversations with Community Development Department at Korogwe Township Council today, mainly for discussing how the Department will collaborate with YPM in promoting social-economic development in Korogwe. Not only that but also, the two officers visited Mgombezi Trees Nursery which is the initiative of the organisation to protect and preserve the environment. The trees are ready to be planted and SIGs (VICOBA) members are kindly argued to communicate with their leaders so as they can get trees for planting in their own piece of land.

Maneja Miradi wa YPM pamoja na Afisa Michezo, Mazingira na Utetezi wamekua na mazungumzo na Kitego cha Maendeleo cha Halimashauri ya Miji wa Korogwe kuona ni jinsi gani wanaweza kushirikiana ili kuhamasisha maendeleo ya Kijamii na Kiuchumi Wilayani Korogwe. Zaidi ya hilo, Maafisa hao waliweza kutembelea kitalu cha miti Mgombezi ambacho ni uanzilishi wa Shirika katika kulinda na kutunza Mazingira. Kwa sasa miti ipo tayari na wana VICOBA wanaombwa kuwasiliana na Viongozi wao ili waweze kupata miti kwaajili yakupanda katika mashamba yao.

Maadhimisho ya siku ya UKIMWI duniani wilayani Lushoto yaliofanyika kijiji cha Kwekanga yalijumuisha kila mtu kutoka ngazi mbali mbali za jamii yakiwa na kauli mbiu inayosema “Mshikamano wa kimataifa, Tuwajibike kwa pamoja”.

Ni wajibu wa kila mmoja kumlinda mwenzie ili kuzuia maambukizi ya gonjwa hili linalozidi kutesa Taifa letu kwa ujumla. #hivday2020

The World AIDS Day celebrations in Lushoto district held in Kwekanga village included everyone from all walks of life with the motto “International solidarity, Let us take responsibility together”.

It is the duty of everyone to protect the other to prevent the transmission of this disease increasingly afflicting our nation as a whole.

Mkinga Stop Poverty League

The Mkinga Stop Poverty Cup. YPM has continued to support Football League at Mkinga district in Tanga region. The competition involved youth based teams with the aim to Stop Poverty and and to Empower Young People through Sports. Speaking to the football funs and and players, Mr. Peter Jally who is the YPM Program Manager insisted the importance of promoting peace in the community through sports. He also emphasized that, young girls are facing the challenge of early pregnancy which hinder their achievement in academic arena and hence school drop out. The Program Manager Argued parents and guardians to cooperate with government, organisation(s) and people with good faith to rescue young girls. He also added that the organisation is ready and has already started to rise awareness to the community and ready to cooperate with government to make sure the challenge is being tackled . Also, the government officials who attended the Cup finals in the first round had spoken the importance of Stopping Poverty, Earl Marriage and Early Pregnancy which are the messages brought by YPM during the competition. After the end of the game there were gifts given to the first and second winners.

Global Week

YPM has gathered youth here at the office in Lushoto to take part in the Global week which is the International meeting of young people around the world hosted by Y Global Norway. The aim of this series of meeting is to help young people discuss global challenges and find the solutions as global citizens. The meeting has started today and will end on Thursday this week.
