Youth Peacemakers Tanzania Participates in the 3rd National Forum on Youth, Peace and Security Agenda 2026

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania | 18–20 September 2026

Youth Peacemakers Tanzania (YPM) proudly participated in the 3rd National Forum on the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda 2026, held from 18 to 20 September 2026 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

Held under the theme “Invest in Peace: Empowering Youth for a Peaceful, Inclusive and Resilient Future,” the forum brought together young people and key stakeholders to reflect on the role of youth in peacebuilding and explore strategies for strengthening meaningful youth participation in Tanzania.

Strengthening Youth Participation in Peacebuilding

The forum provided a platform for discussions on key priorities within the Youth, Peace and Security agenda, including grassroots peacebuilding, digital peacebuilding, economic empowerment, youth inclusion in decision-making, and the implementation of Tanzania’s National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security.

These discussions highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for young people to participate meaningfully in peace processes, contribute to policy dialogue, and develop solutions to challenges affecting their communities.

Recognizing the potential of young people as agents of positive change, the forum emphasized the need to invest in youth leadership, strengthen partnerships, and support youth-led initiatives that promote social cohesion, inclusion, and sustainable peace.

YPM’s Commitment to Youth, Peace and Security

For Youth Peacemakers Tanzania, participation in the national forum was an opportunity to share organizational experiences, amplify young people’s voices, strengthen advocacy efforts, build partnerships with relevant stakeholders, and contribute to national conversations shaping the future of the Youth, Peace and Security agenda in Tanzania.

Through its work in peace advocacy, sports and arts for development, youth empowerment, and community engagement, YPM continues to create opportunities for young people to take an active role in addressing community challenges and promoting peaceful coexistence.

YPM believes that sustainable peace requires more than the absence of conflict. It demands inclusive participation, equal opportunities, respect for human rights, and the active involvement of young people in decisions that affect their present and future.

Investing in Youth for a Peaceful Future

The 3rd National Forum on Youth, Peace and Security Agenda 2026 reaffirmed the importance of recognizing young people not merely as beneficiaries of peace initiatives, but as essential partners in building and sustaining peace.

As Youth Peacemakers Tanzania continues to advance its mission of promoting peace, justice, and youth empowerment, the organization remains committed to supporting youth-led solutions and strengthening community participation in peacebuilding.
