Youth PeaceMakers (YPM) which is NGO based in Lushoto, Tanzania is looking for one professional to join an international exchange program focusing on SRHE and the SDGs, targeting young people in various communities. The program is a cooperation between various countries, and it is a part of Norec (Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation).

The following position is available:

  • SRHE and SDG Advisor with KFUK-KFUM Global (YGlobal) in Oslo, Norway.

Job Description

  • Project Planning and Implementation skills: Develop and perform training, workshops, seminars and other activity-based sessions for staff, volunteers, youth and others, in order to raise awareness and mobilize for advocacy.
  • Assist and lead processes of developing resource materials, such as training manuals, campaign guides, and advocacy tools.
  • Organise campaigns to raise awareness about SRHE and to increase knowledge among youth.
  • Youth Engagement and Empowerment Skills: Mobilize and include broadened groups of young people in the organisations as ways of further empowering youth on SRHE and the SDGs.
  • Support the establishment of groups on matters of SRHE and SDGs, such as youth policy expert groups, sport teams, saving and investment groups and other clubs.
  • Work with local stakeholders in the local communities to create strong networks working on SRHE.
  • Upon return to Tanzania, share experiences among the staff and volunteers for a period of two months.
  • Support partners in social media engagement related to the project.

The position is for 12 months, starting on the 15th of August 2025. The first 10 months will be in the host country, in Oslo, Norway, and the remaining two months will be in Lushoto, Tanzania. It is mandatory to participate in preparatory and homecoming courses by Norec in the beginning and the end of the exchange. The participant will receive a salary in accordance with Norec’s regulation, as well as housing, travel and insurance will be covered.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements for the position:

  • Aged 25-35 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, health sciences, or other relevant fields for the position.
  • Professional work experience.
  • Experience from volunteering in organizations. Knowledge or experience from YPM is appreciated, but not an essential requirement.
  • Fluency in English is important, both oral and written.
  • Work well independently and in cooperation with others.
  • Able to take initiative, communicate well, learn, and be challenged and flexible in different settings.
  • Open-minded, willing to adapt to a new cultural context, and suitable to work with people with different backgrounds regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, country, and political views.
  • Knowledge about SRHE, Gender Equality, and SDGs, and can work with these topics intertwined.
  • Long-term residence in Tanzania.
  • Digital Communication & Advocacy Skills

It is a wish for a long-term impact orientation, where the participant uses the experience to benefit their home community after the exchange.
